Anna Regina PYARG unit begins outreach to schools

THE President’s Youth Award-Republic of Guyana (PYARG) Unit at Anna Regina Multilateral School hosted a hike to Adventure Nursery School, also on the Essequibo Coast, recently. PYARG Field Assistant, Mr. Herald Alves said the volunteers participated in self-help work at the host school, cleaning the building, weeding and clearing the compound and repairing broken furniture.
He said they also distributed gifts to the nursery pupils and the Headteacher, Ms. Maxine Henry thanked them for the visit and all that they did while there.
Alves said the aim of the PYARG members visiting schools and doing self-help is to encourage other youths to stay in school and get more involved in youth activities.
He announced that the next such education outreach will be at the C.V. Nunes Primary School, at Anna Regina, where the Cotton Field Secondary School Unit would be involved in a similar exercise.
