A DIDCO labourer was sentenced to 14 days imprisonment yesterday for stealing chicken gizzards and sausages.
Twenty-two-year old Samad Shaw (no address given) pleaded guilty to the larceny before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, who imposed the custodial penalty on him.
The prisoner admitted that he stole the poultry products, a total value of $3,080, from his employer on March 6.
Shaw had offered to make restitution but the magistrate did not permit it.
