ONE WOMAN is dead and another in police custody following an argument between the two at a the Red Dragon, a popular Robb Street night club, at about 0315h yesterday.
Police in a report said they are investigating the murder of Somolia Haynes, 25, of Roxanne Burnham Gardens who was knifed in the neck by another woman with whom she had an argument.
Haynes was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), where she was taken following the stabbing. Police say they have since recovered the murder weapon.
According to a Demerara Waves report, the suspect, reputedly a 19-year-old, was Haynes’ lover, and periodically works in the gold-mining fields.
The report said too that the two women had been living together for a while and that the deceased was constantly in the habit of beating her younger paramour.
