HAIRDRESSER Natasha Benjamin, of Lot 44 Friendship, East Coast Demerara, who pleaded not guilty to unlawlul assault, on Thursday, was put on self-bail by Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry. The defendant admitted committing the offence on February 2, during a finger pointing exchange with Shavon Rodney in East Ruimveldt, Georgetown.
Police Corporal Venetta Pindar, prosecuting, said Rodney was walking through an alleyway when Benjamin called her hideous names and pointed a finger in her face.
The prosecutor said Rodney was annoyed and reported the incident to Police who arrested Benjamin the same day.
The case was transferred to another court for February 14.
