I would like to add my bit regarding the need for the relevant authorities to pay greater attention to our cemeteries. The manner in which our cemeteries are kept, in particular our main cemetery in the capital city of Georgetown is nothing short of scandalous. It is said that a society is judged by the way it treats with its elderly and I wish to add, by its dead. In this latter regard we have not done well enough as a society.
I wish to call on the authorities to put more time and resources in the enhancement of our cemeteries.
