WHAT ever happened to the much talked about National Teachers’ Awards Ceremony and Teacher of the Year award? The process of selecting finalists from each region began sometime in September. Application forms were being circulated within the Education Departments and schools in the regions. I believe it was one of the corporate entities which donated $500,000 for the Teacher of the Year incentive. The event was supposed to be held on World Teachers’ Day in October but was postponed to November. The year is coming to an end.
