LE VERE Hutson alias ‘Force Ripe’, 24 and his 17-year-old girlfriend, Tramaine Sewah were, yesterday, remanded to prison by Magistrate Omeyena Hamilton, on a drug trafficking charge. Hutson, of New Street and Sewah, of King Street, both in New Amsterdam, Berbice, are charged with having trafficked 103 grammes of cocaine.
It is alleged that they were passengers in motor car HB 7112, which Police stopped at a roadblock and busted them at Albion on Wednesday.
Police said the driver of the vehicle had picked up the couple in New Street and, after the two were seen acting in a suspicious manner, they were taken into Albion Police Station and the teenager, allegedly, threw the narcotic on the floor.
She had been given the prohibited substance by her co-defendant while in the moving hire car and he admitted doing so, the Court heard.
The case is fixed for trial on December 21 at Albion Court.
