Photographer implicated in student rape on station bail

THE well-known Essequibo photographer, who was in Police custody over  the weekend, following the reported rape of a 13-year-old secondary school student, has been released on $50,000 station bail. However the father of the alleged victim told the Guyana Chronicle that his wife and daughter, together with a Police escort, visited Suddie Hospital yesterday for a doctor to examine the girl and issue a medical certificate.
But he did not inform whether their mission was successful.
The student reported, to her father last Friday, that she was sexually violated, by the photographer, in his studio last February 13.
She said she complained to her mother, who was afraid to tell her father at the time and she made a complaint to the priest of the church the assailant attends.
