THE decomposed bodies of the two men found in the backlands of the Kara Kara Creek, Linden, have been identified as Kurt Thierens of Middle Walk, Buxton, ECD, and Adriano Tracey of William Street, Kitty, Georgetown.
Their identities were confirmed yesterday in a release issued by the Police. It stated too that post mortem examinations were performed on the remains of the two men by Dr. V. Brijmohan, who gave the cause of death of Thierens as gunshot injury and haemorrhage to the brain and that of  Tracey as multiple gunshot injuries.
The Police had issued a wanted bulletin for Theirens and another prisoner, Colin Jones, following their escape last year from the Providence Police Station on July last year, under questionable circumstances.

The men were detained as suspects in relation to the fire that destroyed the Ministry of Health headquarters on Brickdam in the city.
Since their escape there had been no sighting of the two fugitives, until Friday when Jones was caught by police in Amelia’s Ward, Linden.
He is reported to have hurled a grenade which failed to detonate at police ranks and escaped in nearby bushes the day before he was captured.
However, the Police determined to get the perpetrator requested back-up ranks and relentlessly continued their search.
Responding to information received about an individual in scanty clothing being spotted in Amelia’s Ward during the wee hours of Friday, the Police arrested Jones who was nursing a suspected gunshot wound to the shoulder.
Following Jones’s capture and acting on information gleaned from him, the lawmen discovered the decomposing bodies two men were discovered in separate shallow graves in the Kara Kara Creek backlands.
Also discovered in the vicinity were a makeshift camp covered with a tarpaulin; two AK 47 rifles without magazines; a quantity of 7.62×39 rounds of ammunition; a grenade; two bullet-proof vests and a number of flares.
Additionally, two marijuana fields with about 1800 plants measuring between two and six feet in height were found by the Police who subsequently destroyed them.
And, in a swampy area adjoining Kara Kara Creek the Police also found a 10-ft boat fitted with a 5HP engine.
Investigations by the Police are continuing.
