Prosecutor tells Court… Accused cell phone thief escaped in motor car

JASON Heyliger (no address given) was yesterday granted $30,000 bail after he pleaded not guilty to larceny from the person.
Before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry, he was charged with having stolen a $25,000 cell phone from Jean Lall on October 27.
Police Sergeant Lionel Harvey, prosecuting, said the virtual complainant was a pedestrian when the defendant snatched the instrument and escaped in a motor car PMM 4563.
The Prosecutor said the vehicle number was also given to the Police and it was found at a National Insurance Scheme (NIS) office.
Heyliger has to make another Court appearance on November 8.
