PM receives courtesy call from Swami Bhajanananda

PRIME Minister Samuel Hinds yesterday received a courtesy call from Swami Bhajanananda from the Cove and John Ashram at his Wight’s Lane, Kingston Office. The Swami was accompanied by former Minister of Finance Mr. Sasenarine Kowlessar.
Swami Bhajanananda is a spiritual leader and member of the Ashram’s humanitarian mission based in Canada and a former senior English literature teacher at the Cove and John Hindu College on the East Coast of Demerara.
Swami Bhajanananda said that his meeting with the Prime Minister was informative since they both exchanged discussions on topics including philosophy and religion.
“The discussion was very enlightening and from that I can see there’s a bright future for all Guyanese,” Swami Bhajanananda said.
According to a report from the Government Information Agency (GINA), he said that all religions have a very optimistic future in this wonderful country where everyone has the freedom to practice his/her own religion, culture and faith.
Swami said that this is his third visit to Guyana for this year and that he recently concluded a three-day yagna and the installation of Ganesh murti at the Ashram.
Kowlessar who is an active member of the Ashram said he was pleased to accompany Swami Bhajanananda to the meeting.
He also said that Prime Minister Samuel Hinds is an iconic leader and that he is always open for discussions with the religious community for propagation and promotion of peace and harmony among all.
