In the same way, your aunt is caught in a cruel, absurd game, an endless round of humiliation and hugs, kindness and kicks. Listening to her recite the litany of abuse handed down by her husband, and then listening to her tell you how much she loves him, is an affront to your powers of reasoning. What’s more, it is like spending a day looking through picture books of accident victims.
You need to be in circumstances which encourage your happiness. Your aunt is making you a third-party victim to her tyrannical husband. Don’t let her populate your world with White Rabbits and Mad Hatters.
