POPULAR race-car driver Mark Vieira, 44, of Lot 25 Lama Avenue, Bel Air Park, Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Sewnarine-Beharry yesterday on a damage to property charge. He pleaded not guilty to the offence, particulars of which said, on October 14, at Mc Doom, East Bank Demerara, he unlawfully and maliciously damaged four glass windows on a vehicle, valued $330,000, property of Ray Anthony Rutherford.
Attorney-at-law Mr. Glen Hanoman made an application for the defendant to be released on his own recognisance, as he is well known and it was granted.
Vieira has to be back in Court on December 1.
