IT is with great pain that we mourn the loss of a sister, Ms. Neesa Lalita Gopaul, a sixteen-year old Queen College student. Hinduism speaks voluminously about how fortunate it is to have this human form. It was only through our sacred karma in our previous births we were gifted the human body. It is the perfect vehicle that can be used for the unification with the supreme Lord. No one has the right to inflict bodily harm or shower abuse of any kind on anyone.
When such heinous crimes are perpetuated on our females, our scriptures abundantly show that destruction of our society is lurking around the corner.
To circumvent this destruction, it is now necessary that all institutions; government agencies, NGOs, CBOs, and FBOs aggressively work together in ensuring that the environment in which our children co-exist is absolutely safe and friendly and where sexual predators will find it impenetrable to operate.
The Guyana Pandits’ Council/Yuvaa Shakti Sangh would like to sound the call for parents to be more responsible in the care and development of their children. The entire family should get involve in activities at the Mandir, the Church and the Masjid. Your mere involvement changes the whole landscape of your thought process. More so, it is an ideal environment in which interventions can be sought. We hope and pray that the perpetrators will be brought to justice.
May Shri Krishna grant the soul of Neesa Lalita Gopaul eternal peace and liberation.
