THE senior selection panel of the Demerara Cricket Board (DCB), led by chairman Robert ‘Pacer’ Adonis, has called 33 senior players including dependable West Indies middle order batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul to a one-day trial match which will be held today from 09:30 h at the Georgetown Cricket Club (GCC) ground.
Apart from Chanderpaul who will lead one side, the selectors invited West Indies opener Travis Dowlin and middle order batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan who will lead the other team, to the trials, following which the Demerara team to contest the Guyana Cricket Board Inter-county limited overs tournament will be announced.
In the absence of Chanderpaul, former West Indies Under-19 skipper Leon Johnson will lead the team and the players called to trials are:
