THE stage is set for the Akbar’s Auto Sales-sponsored Medal Play golf tournament tomorrow at the Lusignan Golf Club.
With the RBTT Suriname Open tournament just one week away, the local players who will be making the trip to the neighbouring republic will use this weekend’s event as critical preparation for the Paramaribo.
Among the players expected to battle for top honours this weekend are: Dr Ram Singh, Bholawram Deo, Robert Hanoman, Mike Mangal, Munaff Arjune, Imran Khan, Patrick Prashad, Ian Gouveia, Mike Gayadin, Colin Ming, Mohanlall Dinanauth,  Ronald Bulkan, Brian Hackett, Muntaz Haniff, Clifford Reis, Albert Russell, Joaan Deo, Mark Lashley, Carlos Adams, Albert Semple, Andre Cummings, Chatterpaul Deo, Maurice Solomon, Mel Sankies and Christine Sukhram.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three players with the best net scores while there will be a prize for Nearest to the Pin at hole number 8.
Registration will close at 16:00 h today.
Tee-off is at 12:30 h but players will assemble at 12:15 h for a briefing.
Representatives of Akbar’s Auto Sales have been invited to make the presentation of prizes to the outstanding golfers.
