HAROLD Glenn (no address given) was yesterday fined $25,000 with the alternative of two weeks imprisonment for theft from his employer.
The thief pleaded guilty, when he appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry, to having, on September 11, stolen 12 pounds of cabbages, 10 pounds ochro and other greens, valued a total of $11,200, property of Abdul Hamid.
The convict told the Court that the virtual complainant refused to pay him after he worked for several days and he took the merchandise instead.
Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, maintained that Glenn had no right to take the items, despite what he was owed.
The Prosecutor said Glenn should have gone to the relevant agencies for help to get his money but took matters into his own hands.
