AFC Councillor lauds health care improvements in Region Two

Alliance for Change (AFC) Councillor on the Region Two Regional Democratic Council (RDC) Francis Darchville, said there is vast improvement in the health services in Region Two. Speaking at the statutory meeting of the Council on Tuesday, Darchville said credit must be given where it is due and the health services in the region must be praised.
The Councillor said since he became a member of the Regional Democratic Council (RDC) some four years ago, he has noticed tremendous improvement in the health sector.
Mr. Darchville said at the Suddie Hospital, tests are available for heart problems, sugar levels, blood pressure and a number of other ailments.
The Councillor said he himself visited the institution and received very good medical attention without having to go to Georgetown.
The Councillor also congratulated the management of the Ophthalmology Centre in Port Mourant for providing an excellent eye care service for Guyanese.
Mr Darchvilel, who visited the centre recently to have his eyes checked, said he is impressed with the high standard of services offered.
According to the Councillor, the government is also providing free transportation via a bus service from the Diamond Diagnostic Centre to Port Mourant and back for persons who have to visit the Ophthalmology Centre to get their eyes looked after.
