GLAD to see a letter recently in the Guyana Chronicle that touched on personal responsibility. My letter questioning why, the role of individuals and organisations, besides the President or Cabinet, are not given their share of blame for Guyana’s problems. This letter writer spoke of communities that have suffered from flash flooding that did not do proper waste disposal resulting in clogged drains and canals. Guyanese was said to too often suffer from a dependency syndrome when we could better help ourselves. It called for more citizens’ support solving problems.
I am hoping that the Guyana Chronicle recognises that constructive criticism and honest and aggressive inquiry, is needed in addressing issues, since it is the people they actually represent that expect them to ask these hard questions from GoG and others.
