Approval wrongly used in letter

A letter signed by the Education Officer for Region Number Two which was uplifted by me from the Department at Anna Regina recently was badly worded with the use of approval on it. The letter stated that approval has not been granted by the Ministry of Education for my grandson to be admitted to the Anna Regina Secondary School although it was revealed that he had secured enough marks to get a place there.
Approval can only be applicable whenever there is a favourable opinion and since there was a rejection, the use of the word was completely out of context.
It would have been appropriate for the letter to read that a decision was taken instead of making mention of approval which was wrongly used.
Many letters of the kind undoubtedly are yet to reach other persons and it would not be too late to make the necessary correction.
Learning is a life long process with the correct use of language being an all time important example for others to emulate as well.
