THE Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha is holding a meeting of pandits today at the Sansksritik Kendra, Prashad Nagar.
President of the Sabha, Pandit Reepu Daman Persaud will outline the objectives to be achieved at this meeting while Purshotam Shivraj will present the Sabha’s education programme –  Sanskrit, Hindi and other aspects of the religion.
Pandit Persaud believes that the Sabha is equipped to educate the young and practicing Pandits and will spare no effort to provide them with the relevant scriptural texts which ought to be carefully studied.
Pandit Balbadar who teaches at the Kendra will explain the importance of the rituals and guide those attending to ensure full knowledge to conduct Hindu ceremonies.  The Sabha holds regular classes for the training of pandits.
The Sabha said it notes public remarks on pandits performance countrywide and shares the view that they must be respected and equally they must equip themselves with all aspects of Hinduism so that they can competently represent Sanatan Vedic Dharma.
