A POST mortem examination, performed by Government pathologist Dr. Vivekanand Brijmohan, has confirmed that the recent Port Mourant, Corentyne murder victim, Yashwattie Samaroo, 43, of Second Street, John’s, succumbed to shock and haemorrhage due to multiple stab wounds. The autopsy, following the last Friday killing, was done at New Amsterdam Hospital mortuary, also in Berbice.
Samaroo’s seven-year-old daughter, Amanda Singh, helplessly witnessed the fatal stabbing of her mother, in the compound of a grocery, where the latter had gone to pay a debt.
The 44-year-old suspected killer is currently a patient, under Police guard, at Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH), from an injury suffered it an alleged attempt to take his own life.
