Government’s response to crises shows consistency

AS WAS the instance with the St. Joseph’s inferno, so it has been with the Madhia conflagration: Immediate response from the PPP/C government.

This is consistency; this is the type of action that highlights a government’s understanding of how to govern a nation, and manage in times of crises.

Not only did the appointed cabinet team visit, but they delivered much-needed relief in kind and cash. This humane gesture surely was welcomed by the affected residents who inhabit one of the nation’s pivotal mining towns.

Now, with the announcement that the town will have an orderly town layout, inclusive of a  housing scheme, points to the beginning of a modernisation effort in this area.

I am certain that other mining areas may be considered for this regularisation process as a defence against such a devastating occurrence.

This and other efforts are indeed commendable, and residents there, I am sure, are going to work together with the relevant authorities to resurrect their town from the ashes, and continue their contribution to the vital mineral sector of this progressing nation.
