$8M vision centre being constructed at Suddie Hospital

Among other projects…
CONSTRUCTION will begin shortly on an $8M vision care centre in the compound of Suddie Hospital on Essequibo Coast.
Regional Superintendent of Works, Mr. Denesh Mohan informed the Guyana Chronicle, last Friday, that the site for the building has already been identified and it will be funded by Government, under the Capital Programme for Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam).
The centre, when built, will boost eye care services in the Region.
Mohan said other capital projects are in progress at the medical institution, including on a fence for the doctors’ quarters and rehabilitation of the Male Accident Ward.
He said timber revetment and a bridge are being erected along a drainage trench in the hospital compound, all at a total cost of $31.3M.
