‘Ras Chippy’ in serious condition after hit and run

THIRTY-FIVE-YEAR-OLD  Claude Mc Pherson also known as ‘Ras Chippy’, of Lot 169 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown, injured in a hit and run accident last Sunday night, is still in a serious condition.
He is a patient in the Male Surgical Ward of Georgetown Public Hospital (GPH).

McPherson does food vending in the vicinity of Dynasty night club, on Aubrey Barker Street, South Ruimveldt Gardens but suffered severe injuries to the face and head in Garnett Street, Newtown, also in Georgetown, shortly after midnight.
Bleeding and unconscious, after losing much blood, he was rushed to hospital where he displayed visible marks on Monday while being restrained in bed.
Relatives, who visited him since said he was delirious and had been hurt in the abdomen where he complained of pain.
They said, although they did not known how he came by the injuries, they were thankful the passersby who discovered and rescued him were his friends.
One friend, Odinga Chase said he and others were driving through Garnett Street some time after the accident and found McPherson lying prostrate on the roadway and bleeding.
They were told by persons in the neighbourhood that, after hearing the sound of a collision, by the time they reached to their windows, the speeding vehicle that hit McPherson had disappeared but the dreadlocked man lay on the road.
