SEPARATE press briefings planned yesterday by the main opposition People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) and the smaller Alliance For Change (AFC) political parties were later cancelled.
While not dismissing the cancellation as ‘purely coincidental’, Political observers believe there is ‘more in the mortar than the pestle’.
This also lends credence to the growing collaboration between the two parties in recent times, especially in the way they act, think and in their utterances.
Political observers said that despite earlier public protestations that they were not considering an opposition coalition for next year’s elections, it now appears that the AFC and PNCR are in a desperate bid to revive their dwindling political fortunes with a shot at a coalition with the help of controversial Barbados-based political strategist Hartley Henry.
