THE proverb which says that self praise is no recommendation certainly rings true when one reads of the so called exploits of the former assistant commissioner Paul Slowe. His antics is reminiscent of that faecal throwing, attention seeking, drama queen who does a lot of pontification but not much else. We still await the real substance to back up all of the comments he made at his farewell speech.
Slowe was placed in the Berbice district which is a low crime area and did little if any, to lift the standard of law enforcement in the region.  As a Berbician myself I am yet to verify the various accolades he has lauded upon himself, let alone him championing the cause of those who stand for truth and honesty.  What we can remember of this top cop was that of a lazy drool some personality, one who was busily engaged in matters other than police work. One who has now crawled out of hibernation to heap praises on himself expecting to get an amen corner from the moral majority. But before you leave sir I would like to ask a few questions could you shed some light on the Lindo Creek murders? What are your revelations on the Lusignan and Bartica massacres? Or further still can you clear up the mystery surrounding the slayings of 27 of your comrades and of the activities of drug kingpin Roger Khan? Now be candid with us and let’s get some straight forward answers please? At least you appear to come across as a no nonsense individual who was bold enough to take on Minister Gajraj. Do not act as a sheep now as I challenge you to a response, when or if you can come up with one.  I am the least impressed by people who beat their own drums as well as do the dancing.
So this fast talking character is soon to take up residence in the United States! A stop that has strangely become the destination of many of the so-called “Mr. Cleans.”  And lest I forget how come you guys have been afforded the courtesies of obtaining a visa/residency when others cannot. Let me pause in the interrogation but leave you with the thought that Big Brother Roger is taking notes of all you folks.
