Pleased with Commander’ Alves’s prompt action

IT is with gratitude that I welcome the quick action of Commander Alves of “G” Division the matter of noise nuisance involving the owner of a General Store at 42, Cotton Field, Essequibo Coast was getting out of hands by the previous Commander.
The intervention by Commander Alves in this matter today June 11, 2010, has been laudable and I
must admit that there has been a marked abatement of the nuisance since the first report. I have made complaints to the police of Anna Regina about the ongoing noise from my neighbour and experience four years of noise nuisance without any relief although the EPA had issue a prohibition notice issued under section 27 of the EPA Act, No 11 of 1996, November 20, 2009.and an injunction was served by the High Court May 17, 2010.on the owner and the manager.
Although many visits were made and statements were taken by officers and investigations were conducted since February 15, 2007, no one was charged as required by the law and the practice still continued.
I telephoned the new Commander Mr. Alves informing him about the Manager’s disregard for law and order in a residential area and he promptly visited the site himself. I wish if all police officers were like Commander Alves and Johnson, nonetheless, I think it is absolutely outlandish to compare these two to others who were here before. Whereas in the course of operating a storage bond in a manner which in the opinion of the EPA poses a risk to public health and the environment.
