Students Graduate from Essequibo cooking school

Another batch of students has graduated from the Johanna Cecilia Learning Resource Centre Cooking School on the Essequibo Coast.
According to Chairman of the centre, Mr Doodnauth Singh, this is the second batch of students to graduate in cooking from the centre for this year.

Co-ordinator and teacher, Mrs Parbattie Singh, said students who attended the course from as far as Lima Village and Huis t’ Dieren were taught to make Indian sweetmeat and snacks.
She said at the end of the course each student cooked and displayed the various snacks and sweetmeats they were taught to make.
They were presented with certificates and urged by their teacher to make maximum use of their new skills in their kitchens or to start small food businesses in their communities.
Another class is scheduled to begin on June 5.
