GFF Super League Double-header set for GFC this evening

THE Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) ‘Win in CONCACAF with CONCACAF’ Super League will continue tomorrow with a double-header at the GFC ground. In the feature game, defending champions Alpha United of Georgetown will take on Liquid Gold of Bartica from 20:00 h while in the curtain raiser, Sunburst Camptown face points leaders GDF from 18:00 h.
Three matches are also scheduled for Sunday at different venues.
East Demerara’s Victoria Kings are down to meet Berbice’s Rosignol United at the Enmore Community Centre ground from 16:00 h while West Demerara’s Seawall FC will meet Upper Demerara’s Bakewell Topp XX at the Uitvlugt Community Centre ground from 16:00 h also.
The other match fixed for Sunday will bring together Bartica’s Liquid Gold and Upper Demerara’s Milerock at a venue to be named.
To date, Guyana Defence Force (GDF) have 11 points from five matches. They won three and drew two. They have so far scored nine goals and conceded three.
Victoria Kings are second with 10 points from six matches. They won three, drew one and lost two with 14 goals for and eight against.
Alpha United are third with nine points from three matches, all of which they have won and in the process, scored 12 goals and conceded three.
Fourth are Milerock, also with nine points, but they have played five matches. They scored three goals and conceded five.
Buxton United are next with eight points from six matches. They won two, drew two and lost two with 11 goals for and 16 against.
Next in the points standing are Rosignol United with seven points from five matches. They won two, drew one and lost two. They scored eight goals and conceded 10.
Liquid Gold are next with four points from four matches. They won one, drew one and lost two with five goals for and seven against. Topp XX are next with four points also, but they played five matches, winning one, drawing one and losing three with four goals for and seven against.
Ninth in the standing are Sunburst Camptown with three points from four matches. They won one and lost three.
They scored six goals and conceded eight, while in the cellar position are Seawall FC with three points also, but they played five matches. They won one and lost four with one goal for and six against.
Meanwhile, the GFF’s Inter-Association’s Under-17 tournament will continue on Saturday with two matches at the Uitvlugt Community Centre ground.
Bartica will oppose Berbice from 14:00 h in a Group `A’ fixture, while West Demerara will be at home to Upper Demerara in a Group `B’ match.
Phase Three (knock-out) of the competition will get under way on May 1 with two matches. Georgetown will meet the runner-up of Group `B’, while the winner of Group `B’ will come up against the runner-up of Group `A’.
