A SON, charged with theft from his father, was on Friday last, given the opportunity to make restitution on April 13.
Massuf Yusuf was not required to plead to the indictable simple larceny offence, particulars of which said he stole cash and a cellular phone from Azif Yusuf, at their Chesney Front, Corentyne home, on April 7.
But, when the virtual complainant said the accused promised to work and make restitution, Magistrate Adela Nagamotoo, at New Amsterdam Court, put the latter on $15,000 bail, pending his next appearance at Albion Court, Corentyne, to which the case has been transferred.
The alleged thief is a labourer at Rose Hall Estate, Canje, also in Berbice.
