KISHAN Persaud, of Ithaca, was yesterday sentenced to three years imprisonment for possession of 13 grammes of marijuana.
Magistrate Nigel Hawke, who imposed the sentence at Blairmont Court, West Bank Berbice, too, was told the narcotic was found on the convict February 19.
The prisoner was also fined $25,000 with the alternative of three more months in prison.
Persaud pleaded guilty to having the drug for the purpose of trafficking.
