THE February criminal sessions of the Berbice Assizes opened yesterday, with the traditional parade and March Past by ranks of Central Police Station, in New Amsterdam.

Justice Winston Patterson took the salute as the procession passed the High Court building.

Of the accused for trial, Bench Warrants were issued for 10.

Among the remainder, six are indicted for murder, 10 for manslaughter and one each for attempted rape, rape, robbery under arms, causing grievous bodily harm, embezzlement by public officer, felonious wounding, carnal knowledge, illegal possession of firearm and attempted murder.
