Taxi driver on disorderly behaviour charge

TAXI driver Kurt Powell, 36, of Lot 54 Seaforth Street, Campbellville, Georgetown, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson yesterday, on a charge of behaving disorderly at a public place.

He pleaded not guilty to the January 14 offence and protested that he was arrested and charged because he blew his horn at a location where a policeman was obstructing traffic.

However, Police Inspector Stephen Telford, prosecuting, said the defendant used indecent language to the rank.

Powell was put on $10,000 bail and the case was transferred to another Court for January 27.
