LEON Davis (no address given) has been fined $20,000, with the alternative of 12 weeks imprisonment, for being in possession of an offensive weapon.

Magistrate Adela Nagamootoo imposed the monetary penalty on the unemployed man at New Amsterdam Court, on Monday, when he pleaded guilty to the offence.

Police Corporal Roberto Figueira, prosecuting, said the 29-year-old was arrested at a house known for illegal narcotics transactions where police carried out a raid last Wednesday.

The Prosecutor said Davis was attempting to commit a felony when he was apprehended and the eight-inch long knife was founding his pants waist.
