The body of the woman was discovered in a trench in the neighbouring community of Nismes and it was taken to the mortuary at the West Demerara Regional Hospital.
The couple is reportedly separated and has been struggling with domestic issues for some time.
In an interview with August’s cousin, Rita Davis, the Guyana Chronicle was made to understand that the dead woman’s husband requested her company on the premise of having $30,000 in child support as well as shoes for the couple’s three children.
“He fool she up and when she went, well look what happened,” Davis said. She added that the two left on a bicycle and that was the last time August was seen alive.
“After she gone, the next thing we hear is a message that she dead…After he kill she he come home and tell people what he do and then gone hiding,” the cousin said tearfully.

Davis explained that Bobby was always abusive and had previously threatened August with a knife.
Bobby reportedly returned from Barbados sometime mid last year, when the relationship took a turn for the worse.
Bobby has a six-year-old daughter whom he fathered with another woman, living with his parents.
The man’s father, Rohit Munniram, stated that about three weeks ago his son came to seek lodging at his childhood home.
“Is me son so I tell he he could stay…He was not thinking well; he tell he mother that it was best to hang himself,” Munniram said.
Meanwhile, a neighbour, Mrs. Marcia Joseph, reiterated the same sentiments, adding that the young man was very troubled and would confide that his wife hurt him bad.
“He always seem like a quiet and cool guy,” Joseph said.
She also pointed out that yesterday morning Bobby spoke to her around 6:00hours but left soon after and he was upset.
“He didn’t look good and he was crying,” she said.
The dead woman leaves behind three children — three-year-old Juanita, five-year-old Kevin, and eight-year-old Shellon.
August was described as an easy going and generous person. She worked as a cook at a restaurant in the same community.
