DHAKA, Bangladesh (Reuters) – Captain MS Dhoni kept his cool to hit an unbeaten century and lead India to a six-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the Tri-Series yesterday.

Dhoni made 101 off 107 balls and struck nine fours to help India overhaul Bangladesh’s total of 296 for six with more than two overs to spare.

Dhoni rebuilt the innings in a 152-run fourth-wicket stand with Virat Kohli after Bangladesh had left India reeling at 51 for three.

Kohli missed out on his second ODI century after being caught and bowled by Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan for 91.

Shakib dropped Dhoni on 61 and the Indian captain made the most of it by going on to scoring his seventh one-day century, assisted by Suresh Raina who made an unbeaten 51 off 43 balls.

Earlier, half-centuries from Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes and Mahmudullah helped Bangladesh post their highest one-day total against India.

Tamim scored 60 including 10 fours and six before Gautam Gambhir took a spectacular catch to end an impressive 80-run opening stand with Kayes who made 70.

Mahmudullah accelerated at the death to remain unbeaten on 60 off 45 balls as Bangladesh scored 54 runs in the last five overs. Bangladesh will play Sri Lanka today.
