TEN-YEAR-OLD Johanna Austin of Haslington South, ECD is a patient at the St Joseph Mercy Hospital suffering from a fractured left thigh.

Austin sustained the injury Friday evening when the landing of a building which was being used by the Police to distribute gifts and toys during a Christmas party collapsed. The party was held for hundreds of children and parents of the East Coast Demerara community at the Cove and John Divisional Headquarters, ECD.

According to the police, a total of six children and an adult were injured, and while the others were treated at the GPHC and sent away, Austin was admitted.
