TWO neighbours, charged with assaulting each other, were put on self-bail yesterday by Acting Chief Magistrate Melissa Robertson.

Forty-seven-year old Rameshwar Sookdeo and Deoranie called Gita (only names given) both of Lot 3 Seaforth Street, Campbellville, Georgetown, pleaded not guilty to the November 24 offences.

Police Sergeant Krishnadat Ramana, prosecuting, said, after the defendants verbally abused one another, Deoranie hurled a pepper bottle and a bucket at Sookdeo but the missiles missed their target.

The Prosecutor said Sookdeo, in turn, went into Deoranie’s apartment, lifted her out of a chair and threw her on the floor.
They are to be back in Court on January 8.
