… S.C. All Stars women’s team coming
UNITED States-based basketball coach Larry Davis will be coming to Guyana September 18-25 for a stint of coaching clinics. It is hoped that all local clubs will send representatives.
Davis said, “We will be working on all aspects of the game starting with fundamentals and different drills that the coaches can use.”
He further informed that “we will go over strength and condition, shooting drills and techniques, mental conditioning, education, HIV awareness, defence, on and off court conduct and sportsmanship.”
He said he intends to see that everyone gets a chance to experience the camp. Hence he wants to have them travel to Linden and/or Berbice, if necessary.
Davis should have been here in Guyana this month, but the South Carolina All Stars Ladies team, which is also scheduled to pay a visit here, could not make the trip to Guyana during this month. They had won their regional title and would be playing for the national title in Orlando, Florida, so they could not be here before next month.
The intention also is to have the S.C. All-Stars play a few games against the top female teams in the country.
