The company said in a release yesterday that a date for the Grand Finale is still to be decided, but that the public will be informed in good time via the media or other communicative avenues.
It cited “unforeseen circumstances” as being the reason for moving the finals to Thursday.

“The contestants have turned on their sirens and are chasing this grand prize head-on, fighting to stay into the competition. Some have upped their acts and presentations and some have definitely improved on their vocal performances.”
It said that while some of the semifinalists are either not working hard enough or just don’t know what to do to impress the judges, they have nevertheless “witnessed fantastic performances from ‘hotties’ like Malika Boyd, Carlvin Burnett, Ashford Ward and Kwasi Cox,” and that “other sizzling performances were also netted by Annece Hicks, Michael Thompson, Adrian Brandt, Pheona Da Silva and a few others.”
“In their heads and dreams,” the phone company said, “they all see themselves driving away with a screech of tires in that spanking automobile up for grabs as the grand prize in the competition.”
The public can determine the winner by texting their votes to the number of their favourite contestants and share in the joys of the event’s conclusion, it said, adding that all the events they’ve held thus far were well attended and those that were present were treated to several ‘Blue Power Entertainment Specials’.
This year’s winner, the company said, will take home, apart from the Toyota VIOS (Blue) motor car, a one-year endorsement contract with GT&T, a complimentary recording of a single, an Apple IPOD Touch, a Samsung Bluetooth Headset and a cellular phone.
The second place winner will take home $500,000, a one year endorsement contract with GT&T, an Apple IPOD Touch, a return trip to Jamaica and a cellular phone, while the third place contestant takes home $250, 000, a return trip to Trinidad, and an Apple IPOD Touch and cellular phone.
After auditions were held countrywide, 25 persons were shortlisted for the quarterfinals which were held at the Theatre Guild. The GT&T Cellink Jingle and Song Competition is broadcast every Thursday night on NCN and HJTV television stations at 21:00hrs and 20:00hrs respectively.
