Why Campbellville fish shop is not on noise nuisance list?

THE fact that Nicky’s Fish Shop of Lot 1 E1/2 Drury Lane, Campbellville, is not cited on the list published by the Ministry of Home Affairs in connection to noise nuisance has given the proprietor carte blanche to continue terrorising residence. Mr. Editor, something is wrong here. How is it that the biggest noise making entity in the area is not on that list? How is it that the proprietor who was charged with sixteen counts of noise nuisance continues to flaunt the law? And openly at that? This noise making entity is an open air affair. How, Mr Editor, this state of degradation is allowed into its fourth year? Which authorising body/bodies has/have given permission for this open air lawlessness? How after numerous reports to Kitty Police Station and Impact? How after talk show hosts ran with the subject? How after numerous letters published in the press begging for the right to peace and quiet, the right to enjoy home sweet home, the right to a peaceful night’s rest, the right to listen to your own music?

It is now after 1 am (Tuesday June 30, 2009) with music/noise still playing but mercifully the boom-boxes and the bawdy voice of the DJ were silenced just after midnight. This period is midnight murder where the noise hits crescendo decibels.

I close as I opened this distressing note, how Nicky’s Fish Shop is not on the list published by the Ministry of Home Affairs?
