Two motor cars yesterday in an accident ended up in the trench along the Mon Repos Public Road, East Bank Demerara, close to Melsha Furniture Store.

Fortunately, both motorists emerged from the badly wrecked cars with only slight injuries.

Driver of hire car HB 2543, Rafiek Kadir, told this newspaper that he was returning to the city after taking a passenger to Lusignan when, as he was passing the furniture store, motor car PLL 5580 coming from behind him overtook a minibus and crashed into his (Kadirxs) car.

On impact, the hire car was pitched off the road, and ended up several feet away, in a dry section of the trench.
