Police detain four in Mon Repos murder probe

POLICE, who began a murder investigation after Munilall Mangaru, 42, of Lot 134 Mon Repos School Road, was found dead Tuesday, have detained four suspects.

The battered body of the victim was discovered under the Agriculture Road Bridge, also at Mon Repos, on East Coast Demerara.

It was clad in a muddied white t-shirt and three-quarters denim pants, wearing a green hat and a pair of slippers.

The corpse, which bore extensive marks of violence on the head and face, was in the early stage of decomposition.

Family members believe Mangaru, a weeder last seen alive on Sunday, was severely beaten.

The father of one, whose wife pre-deceased him, is survived by his mother, a brother and four sisters.
