Argument turns ugly….

A POUDEROYEN man was yesterday chopped to death and stuffed into a suitcase by his drinking companion after an argument between the two got violent.

Roger Alli, also known as ‘Bobby’, of Coglan Dam, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara, was yesterday discovered dead under a shed at Bella Dam, in the same area.

Information released by the Police said the incident occurred at about 16:20h yesterday while the deceased and his alleged attacker were drinking at the latter’s home.

Police said the suspect dealt the 49-year-old Alli several chops about the body before placing him in a travelling bag.

He was taken to the West Demerara Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, while the suspect was taken into police custody.

The dead man’s sister, Rangena Alli, when contacted by this newspaper, said she was not clear on what transpired but that she was told that her brother and his attacker, whom she only knows as ‘Chico’, had been having drinks together at the home of the accused some ten houses away.

The woman said the last she saw of her brother was when he left the house early that morning, and that she was only aware of the incident when someone visited the home to inform them. (Delana Isles)
