The US$51 million Marriott Hotel, which will boost the tourism sector, providing jobs for some 250 Guyanese directly and another 100 indirectly, officially opened today.The grand opening was attended by President Donald Ramotar, Finance Minister, Dr Ashni Singh, Atlantic Hotel Inc Chairman Winston Brassington, and a host of others.

The Marriott, a five-star brand is known around the world as one of the most prestigious and quality hotel brands. The hotel chain is present in 72 countries, comprising more than 3600 hotels, and a staff complement of 129,000.
