A domestic aircraft reportedly ran off the Ogle Airport runway recently, but luckily, no one was injured when the incident occurred.

Sources indicate that a ‘partial brake malfunction’ was responsible for the incident, which allegedly
occurred when the Britten Norman Islander was landing at the Ogle Airport runway after a return trip from Kurupung.
Airport sources noted that, at the time of the incident, six passengers and the pilot, referred to as ‘Ramcharran’, were aboard the aircraft.
Mr Kit Nascimento, spokesman for Ogle Airport Inc. and Trans Guyana Aviation (TGA), said that, on landing, the aircraft experienced a ‘partial brake seizure’, but did not incur any damage. He explained that, as a result of the brake malfunction, the aircraft lost its steering, eventually running off the runway.
Nascimento said the aircraft has been sent for maintenance, and the Guyana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has been notified about the minor incident.
