DENISH Nunes, of Durban Street, Lodge, was, on Friday, September 13, 2019, sentenced to three years nine months’ imprisonment and fined $2.1 Million, after he was found guilty of trafficking 3.65 kilograms of cannabis.
Nunes was on trial at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court before Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
The 39-year-old man denied that, on June 7, 2019, at Durban Street, he had 3.65 kilograms of cannabis in his possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Magistrate McLennan told the court that she found sufficient evidence against Nunes and sentenced him.
According to reports, on the day in question, a party of police officers went to Nunes’ Durban Street, Lodge apartment and conducted a search. Consequently, the cannabis was found in a barrel.
