SERIAL armed robber, Omalo Williams called ‘Mal’, was on Monday, June 10, 2019, remanded to prison on two armed robbery charges committed hours after being released on bail by a City Magistrate for similar charges.
Williams, 27, of Leopold Street, Georgetown, and a former national footballer, appeared before Acting Chief Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs-Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court.

Particulars of the first charge alleged that on May 25, 2019, at Smyth and Leopold Street, Williams, while being in the company of others and armed with a gun, robbed LaToya Lowenfield of a $170,000 cell phone.
It is further alleged that on the same day and location, Williams, while being in the

company of others and armed with a gun, robbed Orwin Lowenfield of a cell phone and cash totalling $91,000.

Police Prosecutor, Adduni Inniss, strongly opposed to Williams being released on bail and told the court that the accused was released from prison on May 24, 2019, after being behind bars on remand for nine similar charges. Inniss explained that Williams committed the crimes hours after his release from prison. The Acting Chief Magistrate ruled in favour of the prosecution and remanded Williams to prison until June 24, 2019.
