Police of ‘E’ Division are investigating the  murder of 40- year- old taxi driver Claude DeJounge called ‘Sonno’ of 915 South Amelia’s Mackenzie, Linden who was allegedly stabbed to death by his partner’s ex-lover.

DeJonge  was stabbed around midnight on Wednesday  at his reputed wife’s home.  Reports are that the accused once shared a relationship with the victim’s reputed wife and was visiting the home when a altercation developed between the two men.

Reports are that the accused was reportedly smoking marijuana at the time and the deceased became annoyed and asked him to leave. An argument ensued  and the deceased called the police which caused the suspect to leave .

The suspect reportedly sent several  text messages to the accused and later returned to the couple’s home, gaining entry through an open window.

He entered a  bedroom at the home and confronted Dejonge . The suspect dealt him three stab wounds with a knife and reports are DeJonge’s reputed wife witnessed the entire ordeal and is assisting with the investigation.

Reports are the suspect, after committing the act , grabbed the woman’s hand and took her out the house, telling her not to tend to the victim. He then ran away and threatened to commit suicide.

The deceased was found lying motionless next to the front door of the house in a pool of blood, clad in a trouser with suspected stab wounds to his neck (front), front left side shoulder and his left side abdomen. He was rushed to the Linden Hospital Complex where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The police are currently hunting the suspect who is believed to be hiding out behind the Wisroc area.
